At Berryman Roofing and Siding, we’ve been serving our Corpus Christi neighbors for over 30 years. Living in the Coastal Bend means our homes face year-round salt air, intense heat, and high winds—conditions that can quickly turn a small roof leak or siding issue into a major health and safety hazard.
We know how costly home upkeep can be for seniors, veterans, and residents living on fixed incomes. That is why we want to make sure Corpus Christi homeowners take advantage of a city grant program opening this month: The City of Corpus Christi Minor Home Repair Program (MHRP).
What is the Corpus Christi Minor Home Repair Program?
Funded by the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) through the Community Development Block Grant (CDBG), this program offers grants of up to $24,999 to eligible Corpus Christi homeowners. These funds are designed to repair critical health, safety, and habitability issues so residents can remain safely in their homes. https://www.corpuschristitx.gov/news/posts/city-to-open-applications-for-minor-home-repair-program/
Repairs Covered by the Grant
- Roof repair and full roof replacement
- Minor structural repairs
- Plumbing and electrical work
- HVAC (heating and air conditioning) systems
- Accessibility modifications (e.g., ramps, bathroom safety)
Who Qualifies in Corpus Christi?
To be eligible for the grant, your property must have at least one identified critical repair and you (or a household member) must meet one of the following requirements:
- Be 62 years of age or older
- Be a Veteran or the surviving spouse of a Veteran
- Have a disability
Application Window: October 13 – October 27, 2026
Applications are open for a limited two-week period.
- Apply Online: Visit cctx.info/CCMHRP to view full qualifications and complete the online application.
How Selection Works
The City expects the number of applications to exceed available funding. Grants will be awarded to 38 eligible homeowners through a random selection process (lottery). Getting your application submitted accurately within the October 13–27 window is essential to enter the selection pool. After being selected, officials will confirm eligibility through a site visit and will then award funding for the job to a procured contractor through the city.
In-Person Application Assistance at La Retama Library
If you need help filling out your application, staff from the City’s Planning & Economic Department will be on hand to assist residents free of charge in both English and Spanish.
- Location: La Retama Central Library, 805 Comanche Street, Corpus Christi, TX
- Dates: October 13 through October 27, 2026
